Knee pain slowing you down? Try these tips.

For minor inflammatory knee pain, start with RICE. Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. Rest for 24-48 hours and ice for 20 minutes (make sure to put a towel between the ice pack and your skin!)

Use a snug wrap above and below the joint and elevate the knee above the heart.

If your knee is swollen, red, or warm, ice is usually the better call. Heat can help with circulation and relieve pain and over-the-counter pain relievers may help too.

If your pain is severe, worsening, or not improving after a few days, call your doctor!
