Most DIY container home builds tell you that you need expensive plasma cutters, heavy welders, and massive wood framing just to get started. I completely skip the framing and kept the structural integrity of the container 100 percent intact.
Instead of buying a rare double door unit or slicing into the side walls, I built a secure inset wall right behind the main cargo doors and installed a standard residential front door. When I am away, the steel cargo doors lock shut to create a fire resistant, theft proof stealth vault.
As a massive bonus, I share my ultimate insulation shortcut. I skip traditional 2x4 framing entirely by adhering rigid foam board directly to the corrugated steel walls using spray foam. To keep the air fresh and dry, I show you how to utilize the original factory vents so the container breathes naturally without any moisture or mold issues.
