Third attempt at making a #tiltshift video using the #nikon #p1000 super zoom camera and I like to think they get a little better each time.
This time its Tiny Canada or more like Tiny Vancouver, Toronto, and Niagara but ya know…. close enough.
I usually get asked how to make one of these so ill give you a quick rundown.
*HOW TO*
When Filming:
Nice high vantage point looking down, use a tripod so the shot is nice and steady and zoom to the point things are small and doll sized. About a minute of filming each subject for flexibility in editing.
Editing:
- Colour and Contrast intensity up, its meant to look bright and plastic like
- Sharpen your subject and then Sandwich your subject with blur (use a mask), I use Gaussian Blur in Adobe Premiere
- Drop your frame rate, I used posterize time in Adobe Premiere. Drop it right down to 4 frames but play till you see what you like
- Speed up your video to 200 – 300x but same as above have a play.
What I failed to do was use a tripod, take shots as long a I should and keep the size of my subjects to doll sized consistently.
Do as I say not as I do.
