Here's how I tint my PET-G plastic visors! Synthetic fabric dye mixed in a pot of hot water at 140F (60C). Dunk plastic for five minutes (don't let it touch the bottom) and rinse in cool water. Dunk again for a darker color.
We ended up with five dunks for this dark tint. Also, for black tints, the dye either turns out more brown (RIT Dye Polyester) or more blue (iDye Polyester). The brands change over time, so make sure to experiment!
