A quick look at Herge's The Making of Tintin: Cigars of the Pharaoh & The Blue Lotus, a 2-in-1 hardcover edition published in 1995 with a making-of feature by Benoit Peeters.
As a young kid growing up reading Magnet paperback editions of the adventures of Tintin, life was quite confusing. Not only did I not know of the existence of Tintin in the Land of the Soviets and Tintin in the Congo until many years later, even The Blue Lotus was a later discovery! And then there were the Making of... books, which I never saw until I was an adult.
In this video I try to loosely trace my confusion and discovery of these various books, all to support this quick look at the 2-in-1 edition of Cigars of the Pharaoh and The Blue Lotus.
