Tinker Behind the door is Figgy Duff's variant of a 19th century British broadside ballad, Beverly Maid And The Tinker, originally published by J Pitts (London) sometime between 1828 and 1829, and archived at the Bodleian Library Broadside Ballads, shelfmark: Harding B 25(186) and published on a 1980 LP by Posterity Records in Toronto, ON, produced by Gary Furniss and Tom Treumuth, and re-released on a 1997 CD for Hypnotic Productions.
