A 1906 film recorded during a trip down Market Street: filmed April 14, 1906, four days before the San Francisco, CA, earthquake and fire of April 18, 1906, which destroyed the downtown area.
Film was shot from the front window of a moving cable car, and covers about 1 1/2 miles; average speed nearly 10-miles per hour.
Market Street is 120 feet wide, and almost 3.5 miles in length. The street runs northeast to the Ferry Building.
