Timber Fire tops 19,000 acres in Big Sur as Highway 1 closes for backburning @KSBW

The Timber Fire has grown to 19,296 acres and is 21% contained in Monterey County, according to CAL FIRE. Highway 1 is closed until further notice along a 40-mile stretch between the Captain Cooper School entrance and just north of Gorda.
