Usually automation replaces whole humans - or else pre-processes their sensory inputs and and post-processes their motor outputs. Many have speculated that humans will wind up in virtual reality - with the human body being functionally replaced.

In this video, I will consider what would happen if technology progresses so that the human minds can be replaced before the human body can be duplicated.
