"A Soldier Traveling From The North" as learned from the singing of the amazing Dillard Chandler. I first heard this when Jon Cohen played his recording of Chandler's singing many years ago after a serendipitous meeting at a performance I gave at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York City. I started the concert with a long unaccompanied piece I learned off an unlabeled cassette I found in a friend's basement around 1990, which turned out to be one of Jon's recordings of Roscoe Holcomb.
