The Hayes Jewelers 200 was a 204 lap slug fest that featured restart duels, side by side battles and no holds barred aggression from a number of drivers.

At the end of the race, with an overtime finish, it was Tim Brown in the familiar blue Hayes Jewelers modified, a paint scheme that hadn’t seen the race track in several years, winning the Hayes Jewelers 200.

Brown and his team brought the blue Hayes Jewelers look back for this event hoping to take it to victory for an aging Bruce Hayes to see in victory lane at least one more time. Despite what looked like a very strong effort early in the race by Danny Bohn, Tim was able to have a nearly perfect restart and grab the lead on lap 161.

Bohn, Burt Myers and John Holloman IV all made strong efforts to displace Brown from the lead and even with multiple restarts to have a fresh shot, Brown held them off off.

It was an emotional win for Brown who was determined to get the win for Hayes, who he has said was like a father to him over the years.
