The other day, we invited a PhD community psychologist onto our weekly livestream to have an honest, raw conversation about men's mental health.
We discussed why so many men struggle in silence, why the current system often fails to reach them, and why Men's Mental Health Awareness Month deserves far more attention than it receives. We talked about the reality that over 100 men a day lose their lives to suicide—a statistic that should be a national emergency.
For that, TikTok shut down our livestream, claiming the discussion contained "inappropriate content that might make someone uncomfortable."
Think about that. A respectful, expert-led conversation about saving men's lives was considered too "uncomfortable" to allow.
When silence is chosen over compassion, it becomes negligence. If we are serious about improving men's mental health, we have to be willing to have the hard conversations, even—and especially—when they make people uncomfortable.
In this video, I’m calling out TikTok's decision, the media's near-total silence during June, and the broader cultural indifference that continues to cost lives. If we can't even talk about the problem, we can never hope to solve it.
Help us break the silence. If you believe this conversation needs to be heard, please like and share this video.
