Tricksters can come in a variety of forms, yet few are as startling and alien looking as the Tikbalang, of Philippine mythology! Popularly portrayed as a tall and gangly creature with a horse's head and hooves and spindly limbs, the Tikbalang is not as dangerous as other monsters from Filipino lore, but its powers of shapeshifting and illusion casting combined with its love of scaring and toying with wayward travelers make the Tikbalang a chilling and even deadly monster of mythology!
