In this episode of "Found In The Archives", we track down shots of the famous German Tiger Tank number 131 from the movie Fury. We find out how it ended up in England and what became of the other Tunisian Tiger Tanks seen in period archive film.
Note: there is still some uncertainty about what actually disabled the Tiger in the battle at point 174 - read more below.
**Recent research appears to show it was either a captured German/French PaK 75mm A-T gun (7.5cm PaK 97/38. L/36.3) re-purposed by the infantry on the hill, or one of the 6 pounders from the Churchills of the relief force - what do you think and why? Comment below.
