Final Fantasy VII is one of my all time favorite game soundtracks. This is a recording of Tifa's Theme from Final Fantasy VII Remake vinyl edition that came out recently! Beautiful music, I love these new arrangements for the remake!
I remember playing FF7 back in 1997, this massive multi-disc PS1 game, and being total immersed in the world in a way I had never been before. One of the big parts of feeling immersion for me is the music, and boy, the music in this game!!
This music was composed by legendary game music composer Nobuo Uematsu. I had the pleasure of meeting him and opening for his band "The Earthbound Papas" at a video game music festival back in 2014 ago.
He is such a nice man, quite and soft spoken, but visibly enthusiastic. There was a bit of a language barrier between us, as his English is about as good as my Japanese. 😅 As he autographed my hat, he said the words "very cool" to me! Such a nice memory.
Hope you enjoy this video of Final Fantasy VII Tifa's Theme from the newly released Final Fantasy VII Remake vinyl edition. This video is slowed down 16%, as slow as my turntable will let me go. This made it feel to me like the tempo of the original FFVII song, but with the beautiful new arrangement.
I recorded this with my Taruya BLUE cartridge, because of the soft and spacious sound this cart has. The audio is now also running through my Mackie VLZ4 mixer, which gives me the ability to apply a little EQ to the sound. This lets me further balance the quality so the speed changes I employ don't make things too bassy or muffled. I'm really happy with how this setup is developing!
