Compared to the Past and Present versions of Tidal Tempest, this one introduces a new bassline, simpler drums, an even an entirely new riff. There's barely anything remaining of the original zone, and that little melody remaining is quickly overshadowed by the new riff. Perhaps you could say it's being "drowned" out?

A long while back, when I made my first arrangement of this theme, I already had the idea that I wanted to eventually give it a second try with a more acoustic feel.
