Global warming is here. It's still winter but there was hardly any snow this year and the temperatures were low only for a few days. So the ticks happily survived in great numbers and since the sun came out and temperatures went up a bit, they already started hunting. Be careful! Make sure to examine your legs when you are in a forest!
