The session notes state John used a Strat on Ticket To Ride. I only have one painted to be Rocky so that is what I used to recreate John's tone. It's possible John used is Rickenbacker 325. Either way, the important thing to focus on for this tone is to have a quiet acoustic-y tone by turning your guitar volume pot down. The drone part sounds like the Strat at full volume
