Meteorologist Ashley Renee has your 8:15 am forecast. Good morning everyone and happy Thursday! Edouard has dissipated. It was still a tropical depression over SE Texas yesterday morning, but now it is just a remnant low. Edouard was never a concern for our area, but the moisture and outermost rain bands from Edouard did help us to have on and off showers on Monday, Tuesday and yesterday. Now, additional Gulf moisture will stream in for today and the next few days which means more rain for us. Our Thursday morning will be mainly dry, but a few scattered showers will develop and move into our area this afternoon. This will be on and off across our area until it ends this evening. This won't be widespread rain so some of you might miss out on getting rain. Besides the rain, we'll have a mix of sunshine and clouds and highs will be in the 90s. On Tuesday, we only had a high of 89 degrees since skies were mostly cloudy and rain was in our area. That temperature was two degrees below normal for this time of year. Yesterday was drier and warmer so the high temperature reached 95 degrees. This was four degrees above average for this time of year. Again, today's highs will be in the 90s. Showers will end this evening and dry weather will last through the night. Overnight lows will be in the 70s. Rain chances will continue for the next few days as additional Gulf moisture surges in. This will be driven by an easterly wave that will be moving west towards our area. Keep your rain gear with you each day into next week. A little more rain will be around on Friday. Isolated showers are possible in the morning and scattered showers and thunderstorms will move through in the afternoon and evening. A few showers will still be around Friday night before clearing out. Some of the rain could be heavy at times. Rain gear will still be needed for Labor Day weekend, but rain coverage will be a tad bit lower. The mornings will be mostly dry, but a few scattered showers and thunderstorms will move through our area in the afternoons and evenings. Thanks for watching. Have a triumphant Thursday!
