From the GE Film Catalog: "Hunting thunderbolts is one of the little-known but fascinating jobs to he found in industry. This film reveals how a young scientist goes about capturing photographs of lightning strokes. Since it has been proved that lightning does strike twice—in fact, many times—in the same place, the film shows how cameras are set up to record lightning flashes as they strike the Empire State Building in New York City. Experiments also are performed in the laboratory where artificial lightning is produced. As a result of this research, it has been possible to design and build protective devices against nature's most destructive element."
