Thug Entrancer may have come about when Ryan McRyhew was trying to overcome the sense of dislocation from having moved from Denver to Chicago. And to cope with loss of connections, of friends, of heroes, of family. Making music using analog drum machines and synths to score a cyber-punk alternate reality in the heart of Chicago's south side, the results are beautifully textured anthems.
