This restart almost certainly would not happen without Microsoft. Three Mile Island Unit 1, now the Crane Clean Energy Center, is a $1.6 billion rebuild backed by a 20-year Microsoft power contract and a $1 billion Energy Department loan. Target: 835 MW on the PJM grid by late 2027. Unit 2 was the 1979 melt and stays shut.
