Books Im Not Reading | Thoughts on Expectations for Booktube Channels @booksimnotreading | Uploaded May 2023 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
I worry sometimes, especially for people who are considering starting a Booktube channel, that it might be easy to be discouraged or have unrealistic expectations for what will happen on our Booktube channels. Do we think this will be a new career? For me, it's my hobby! Do I make videos that don't connect with people watching? Yes! Do I sacrifice a lot of time for my hobby? Yes! But it's my hobby. It brings me so much joy. I would never think of it the way I look at a full-time job. I'm very happy for people who are able to achieve necessary income from Booktube, but I'm here to make friends. And I have! What a joy that is in my life. If I suddenly lost employment or couldn't work full-time, I might look at it differently, but fortunately I don't have to do that now. What do you expect (or have your expectations changed?) from your Booktube channel? What should we be telling people who are small Booktubers or those thinking of starting a Booktube channel to expect? Please tell me what you think - whether you have a channel or not - in the Comments section!
