Thomson Newspapers produced a video and disseminated it to all their newspapers spread throughout the country.
This is a very interesting look at a company in the newspaper industry at the early stages of the internet trying to transform itself and stay ahead of the technological revolution that was happening in news and information.
This video was in the possession of Gerry Carew who owns thenlvideoman.com but also spent over 25 years in the business development side of newspapers. Gerry's unique perspective is that he became the digital sales rep for The Evening Telegram in St. John's in 1999 until the dot com bubble burst in 2000. In 2009 he got back into the digital news business and became the director of digital products and solutions for TC Media in NL. Gerry left the newspaper business in 2018 and has gone on to cofound a podcast network with his business partner Allan Dale called galeforcewins.com
