Meet Erin Barrick from Lincoln, Illinois, and her incredible 1986 Peterbilt 359 named “Hector.” Chris caught up with Erin at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee during the Shell Rotella SuperRigs show, where this black, white, and red 359 immediately stood out in the parking lot.
Erin explains how Hector started as an old Florida work truck and was transformed into a show-stopping Peterbilt with custom striping, red hand-painted details, polished aluminum, red underglow, a fresh interior, and a whole lot of personal touches. The stripe layout alone took five full days to lay out, plus even more time planning.
This truck is more than just a build — it’s a tribute to Erin’s late grandfather, her family’s trucking history, and the legendary “Black Deuce” sprint car. Erin also shares the story behind the name “Hector,” her family’s asphalt hauling business, and what it means to be the fourth generation in trucking.
From the custom deck plate and Diamond Rio-inspired details to the fresh interior from Truckin’ Awesome and the plans to eventually hook Hector to a dump trailer and haul asphalt, this Peterbilt is built with heart, history, and serious attention to detail.
