Still to this day, I can’t fully figure out what Tre Cool is playing in the outro of Chump.

After the long tom bridge and that sweet bass solo, Tre goes into a frenzy of crash and snare fills. It sounds like pure chaos, but there are definitely patterns inside it.

The hard part is the speed, the length of the outro, and the unpredictability of which pattern comes next. By the time you think you know what he’s about to play, he already moved on.
