Do you remember Monkey Island sounding this good?
In this video I take a look at the TM32 from Serdashop — a compact external MIDI synthesizer that supports General MIDI, Roland GS-compatible soundfonts, and MT-32 / CM-32L emulation.
For me, the most interesting feature is not General MIDI. It's the ability to experience classic DOS games with the kind of music they were originally written for.
We'll listen to Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Space Quest III, DOOM, Duke Nukem 3D, GODS and more while exploring General MIDI, Roland MT-32, CM-32L and the new GeneralUser GS 2.0.3 soundfont.
Can this little box replace a real MT-32 or CM-32L?
