In this video, I’m testing the Thermal Master THOR 002 thermal imaging camera to see what it can do and, more importantly, how useful a thermal camera actually is in the real world.
The THOR 002 is a handheld infrared thermal camera that lets you see heat that would otherwise be invisible. I’ll cover the camera’s features, image quality, temperature measurement capabilities, controls, and overall usability while putting it through some practical tests.
For me, one of the most interesting uses for thermal imaging is tool testing. I can use the THOR 002 to see exactly where cordless power tools, batteries, and chargers are generating heat during heavy use. That gives us another way to compare tools beyond simply looking at speed, power, and runtime.
But thermal cameras can do a lot more than test power tools. We’ll also look at some other practical applications and see what the Thermal Master THOR 002 can reveal around the shop and home.
