The Star-Batt Plus claims more than 24 hours of continuous Starlink Mini runtime - but after multiple real-world tests, mine delivered between 27 and 29 hours.
During my original test, I powered it on Saturday at 1:50 p.m. and shut it down Sunday at 5:17 p.m. That was 27 hours and 27 minutes - and the battery still had 8.3% remaining. Based on that result, it was tracking toward nearly 30 hours of total runtime.
I also wanted to answer an important question: Does operating the Starlink Mini inside the closed Pelican case reduce internet performance?
I conducted 6 speed tests - 3 with the Mini inside the case and 3 with it sitting on top. The average download speeds were only 0.8 Mbps apart, suggesting the protected, enclosed setup caused no meaningful reduction in download performance under my testing conditions.
I waited 2 weeks before making this video because I wanted enough time for the problems to reveal themselves. Honestly, I still haven’t found a functional issue. It is expensive, heavy, and unquestionably a premium product—but it is built like a tank and does exactly what Star-Batt claims it will do.
If dependable off-grid internet is part of your work, travel, emergency equipment, or overlanding setup, nothing else I’ve tested comes close.
