When's the last time you stopped to build a sandcastle?

Lucinda, better known as Sandy Feet, has made a career out of it. This former schoolteacher used to travel to the Gulf Coast in her summertimes to relax and enjoy the occasional sandcastle... Who would've known that forty years later she'd teach tens of thousands of beachgoers the artistry of intricately sculpting sand and compete in international sand sculpting competitions herself.

Serving as the soul of South Padre Island's eclectic Sandcastle Village, Lucinda reminds us that some beautiful things can only stay temporarily. It's the care and joy put into building such things that will never wash away.
