This python season felt different from the start in the Florida Everglades. We began finding multiple invasive Burmese pythons nesting together in ways we’ve never documented before.

With the help of my dog Otto, we located nesting areas and breeding activity that changed how we understand these pythons. Halfway through the season, we lost Otto in a tragic accident, but his impact on this work and what we discovered this year will always live on. This one’s for Otto.
