Duntisbourne Abbots, Gloucestershire | A Peaceful Hidden Gem in the Cotswolds
Tucked quietly within a gentle valley of the Gloucestershire countryside, the enchanting village of Duntisbourne Abbots is one of the Cotswolds’ most peaceful and lesser-known treasures.
In this slow, early morning walk, we explore the timeless beauty of this hidden hamlet — where golden Cotswold stone cottages rest beneath rolling hills, and the soft sounds of nature echo through the stillness. Far from the busier tourist spots, Duntisbourne Abbots offers a rare glimpse into a quieter, more untouched side of the Cotswolds.
Flowing gently through the village is the River Duntisbourne, a small chalk stream that adds to the tranquil atmosphere, weaving its way past open fields and ancient dry-stone walls. With hardly any traffic, this is a place where time feels like it has slowed to a near standstill and nature has the final word.
At the heart of the village stands the beautiful St Peter's Church, a historic and characterful building that has quietly watched over the village for centuries — a perfect focal point for reflection during this peaceful walk.
This video is designed to be a calming, immersive experience — ideal for relaxation, inspiration, or simply escaping into the gentle rhythm of rural England.

Some of you might recall that this is not our first visit to Duntisbourne Abbots. Because of this new style of filming that I am currently trialling out, it allows me to venture further afield from the centre of a village which translates into more scenes for you to savour as where on one continuous walk, it would not be practical to do so. For me personally, I already feel much happier with this style of filming as it means I can get more creative with the filming.

As a few of you already know, I like to have a dabble on the keyboard now and again. It has taken me about six weeks to write this piece. I still need to write some strings accompaniment for it. As you can hear it is not that good (but neither terrible either IMHO) but having said that, at least it's my own work and not AI generated! I drew inspiration for the title from my friend @harmenschoutenpiano as he visited the Cotswolds as a young boy. The way he summed his visit up was...The Cotswolds felt like home. Harmen is an incredibly talented composer & producer...well worth a visit to his channel if you want some beautiful music to relax to!
There are no hidden logos within this video. There is one editing mistake though, see if you can spot it! Unfortunately I didn't spot it until after uploading to YT!
