Fox Sports crowned Trump the “Sports President” in a glossy tribute video celebrating his appearances at major sporting events and the Freedom 250 race he ordered into existence, but the audience response was brutal. The race itself brought security shutdowns, long water lines, questionable sightlines, taxpayer-supported spectacle, and another Trump victory lap while his golf record continues to draw accusations of rampant cheating from people who have actually played with him. Sports has rules, scoreboards, and consequences, which makes it a particularly awkward place to manufacture another Trump triumph. Ring of Fire's Josh G. explains.
