Mega Man 8 (along with Shining Force III) is one of the reasons why I actually want a Sega Saturn for the OG hardware experience, lol. But for now, I have to deal with it on the emulator with my laggy PC. PS1 version is what I grew up on, but once you go Saturn, it's hard to go back...
While Tengu Man's autoscrolling is the low point of this stage, the actual platforming segments make up for it, as they're the perfect playground for MM8's most advanced tech. Mega Ball jumping is such an underrated tech in the Mega Man series. Combine it with some of the best lagless hotswapping in the series before MM11 came around, there's several combinations with the robot master weapons. The first four stages are only a taste of what a full arsenal looks like (I'm refraining from showing any footage from later stages due to a... secret video).
