For a long time, I thought teaching multiple ages meant more work, more juggling, more pressure. Different kids, different levels, different subjects . . . it felt like I was constantly bouncing back and forth and never really getting anywhere.
But the more I’ve stepped back and looked at how learning actually works, the more I’ve realized something I didn’t expect . . . teaching multiple ages might actually be the advantage.
When we separate everything into subjects and levels, we lose the context that makes learning stick. But when we bring it together . . . when kids are learning alongside each other, discussing, connecting, and even teaching one another . . . something changes.
