To my subscribers, friends, colleagues and acquaintances,
I want to take a moment to share something personal about myself and the way I approach my YouTube channel. For people that have been with me for a long time, nothing that I am saying here will be a surprise. But the people that are new to my channel will not have had the time to understand my history, my motivations or my character. As the year comes to a close, I think it is important to reflect on the events of the past and the paths that we took to get to where we are right now.
On my Channel: This channel is not a school and I am not a professor. This channel is a map of my JOURNEY OF DISCOVERY. It is a living document of my path as I wander through the landscapes of physics, math and fractals and the never ending mysteries of the Universe. My channel is a diary of my thought processes, revelations and realizations as my knowledge and understanding grows and changes with time.
On Discovery: When I speak of “discovery,” I am speaking of my personal discoveries, not the first-ever human discoveries. These are the revelations of my mind, the gentle unfolding of understanding that comes from curiosity, patience, wonder, study and hard work. Sometimes, I stumble upon an aHa moment - the sparkling instants of clarity or insight. These are the personal realizations born from my knowledge base, my mind and my imagination. These are not things that I can grasp onto and hold. Imagination captures me, not the other way around.
On my Claims: I do not claim authority over any of the ideas I share with you on my channel. I do not claim that I am the first, the only, or the final voice to recognize them. I discover anew every day (and twice on Sundays). My desire is simply to share these experiences as I live them, to illuminate my path and invite you to walk alongside me, even if only for a moment.
On Why I Make Videos: I make videos because I feel compelled to. My channel is not monetized and I rarely use my own name. This space is a mirror of my path, my trajectory, my journey - shaped by curiosity, by wonder, by the joy of exploration itself. Every video I make is an act of sharing, not professing. I offer guidance, process, logic and visualizations, so you might see the world through my eyes. I do not seek fame, fortune or recognition; I seek companionship on my journey. Walk with me for a while, or not. It’s entirely up to you.
