If you have been around this channel for a while, you will probably know that I prefer to "speak" with facts and actual data, than to verbalize inaccurate thoughts which may confuse or even mislead you.
When it comes to FPV goggle module comparisons, I have gathered my fair share of experience through struggles and experiments, including image noise analysis and frame-by-frame pixel peeping, all resulting in educated decisions on how my test rig and procedure have evolved.

It is a very tricky subject with loads of variables, making consistency and accuracy a hard task to achieve. Following great advice from people like Ira (Iftron) and repeatedly testing the performance uniformity of Hugo's (TrueRC) awesome antennas were very important steps, that helped keep many of these variables under control.
Dock stations like the DockKing, fancy FPV monitors like the Lumenier DX units and any sort of DVR or multi-channel CCTV devices will most probably not relay an accurate representation of what would actually go into your eyes if you were wearing your goggles. Ofcourse it depends on what module you pair them with but this is the general rule to have in mind.
Using different action cameras to record the screens of different goggles takes the bowl of variables and stirs it up all over again - at least this is how I see it. So my "weapon of choice" is my own VRx module test rig, in which I have put great attention to detail and will continue to improve, based on new findings and new (probably more demanding or quirky) modules.
Speaking of quirky, the OwlRX module is less quirky than the RapidFIRE, but still more complicated than "conventional" modules - according to OwlRC. Here is the discussion on the OwlRC Facebook group, that inspired me to do this comparison: mutefpv.com/xp43p
Something else to keep in mind, when comparing the GoPro footage of the goggle screen to the image shown in the FPV monitors: the differences in the contrast and clarity of the footage may sometimes "mask" breakup, but if you look closely you will see that it is almost always there, as discoloration, tearing or simply less pronounced noise. I also did my best to match the footage frames to each other but there are a few sections where they are slightly off.
(note: The OwlRX modules are stock, flashed with 0013 firmware, without the resistor mod)
