The course I used an as example is MIT Introduction to Astronomy: https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/physics/8-282j-introduction-to-astronomy-spring-2006/index.htm

Take my advice with a pinch of salt and adjust to your own experience. Don't take any of the written examples too seriously, I was just trying to illustrate a point with my scribbles :P
