We filmed this a couple years ago and it was unearthed as we combed thru 5 years worth of footage to do a montage on sedges. Movie magic gives you a glimpse of the debates I have with myself regarding different plants and their characteristics. Enjoy!

**Carex is a genus of plants within the sedge family (Cyperaceae); all Carex are sedges (often called “true sedges”), but not all sedges belong to the genus Carex...Carex is the largest and most species-rich genus in that family, with over 2,000 species worldwide. Members of Carex are the plants most people mean when they say “sedge” in gardening or ecological contexts. They are distinguished by having mostly unisexual flowers (male and female on the same plant in most cases) and by a distinctive bottle- or sac-like structure called a perigynium (or utricle) that encloses each female flower/fruit.**
