Director Thomas Charles Hyland and producer Josie Mason Campbell discuss the multi-format approach to their new project, This Is Going To Be Big.
In order to secure financing for their new feature documentary project This Is Going To Be Big, producer Josie Mason Campbell and her production partners knew they had to adapt to get it over the line. The solution came by delivering a multi-format option – a feature film version and a 2-part series version.
“By having both versions we now have two offerings that we can present, even to an international market and people can make the right choice for their audience,” Mason Campbell explains. “So, it was really important not only for financing but for future sales.”
In this behind-the-scenes video, Mason Campbell reveals how funding was still being secured during filming, and director Hyland discusses his approach to filming documentary on a locked-off camera and how he contacted over 50 schools before finally finding Sunbury and Macedon Ranges Specialist School.
