Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has launched “Operation Economic Outcast,” a major US economic pressure campaign targeting Iran’s financial lifelines. The new sanctions target Iran’s crypto, technology, gold, aviation, and shipping sectors, with roughly 60 entities, individuals, and vessels designated.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio has also reportedly told foreign counterparts that the US will refrain from striking Iran “for the time being,” signaling a shift toward economic pressure rather than immediate military action.

Bessent warned that the US intends to target Iran’s economic network worldwide and potentially impose secondary sanctions on countries and companies doing business with Tehran.
