Hoocąk (Ho-Chunk) is one of five Indigenous languages of what is now Wisconsin and part of the Siouan language family, found only in North America. It has deep ties to the Upper Midwest, including present-day Minnesota.

Today, fewer than 80 fluent speakers remain, with ongoing community-led efforts to revitalize the language.
