Could you build a complete camp cook set from nothing more than a few old tin cans?

In Week 4 of my 30-Day Hobo Challenge, I show you how to transform ordinary tin cans into a surprisingly practical coffee pot, frying pan, and coffee cup using only basic hand tools.

These simple projects are inspired by the ingenuity of 1930s hoboes who often had to make useful equipment from whatever they could find. The result is a lightweight, functional cook set that costs almost nothing to build.

In this video you'll learn:

✔️ How to make a coffee pot from a tin can

✔️ How to build a simple frying pan

✔️ How to make a durable coffee cup

✔️ Basic hand-tool techniques anyone can use

✔️ Why homemade camp gear still makes sense today

This completes the gear-building portion of the challenge!

Next week we'll head into the backcountry for an overnight camp using only the equipment we've built throughout the challenge to see if it really works.

If you enjoy bushcraft, survival skills, vintage camping, Great Depression history, and forgotten outdoor knowledge, you're in the right place.

If you enjoyed this video, please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and leave a comment letting me know what you'd cook first with this homemade cook set!

I'm also excited to announce that I'll soon be offering a Modern Hobo Survival Course at the WayPoint Survival School, where we'll put these same skills into practice in the field.
