Reaching the top of a loaded truck bed rack usually means climbing onto a tire, balancing on the tailgate, or carrying a separate ladder. The YASSA STEP was created to eliminate that problem entirely.
Last week, I met with Michael, the owner and inventor of YASSA STEP, for an up-close walkthrough of this innovative new platform. Michael explains the original frustration that inspired the idea, how the design evolved, and the different ways truck owners can use it.
With one simple motion, YASSA STEP swings out from the side of an existing bed rack and locks securely into position. It provides a stable place to stand while accessing rooftop tents, cargo boxes, kayaks, bikes, and other equipment. When you’re finished, it folds flush against the rack and continues functioning as a MOLLE-compatible mounting surface.
But this is more than a step. The platform can also support tools, camping equipment, portable power stations, water containers, cooking gear, and other equipment around camp.
As you’ll see in this video, YASSA STEP scratches an itch that no other truck bed rack accessory currently addresses. It is practical, streamlined, and built around a problem that nearly every truck owner with a loaded rack has experienced.
