Aaron takes a comprehensive look back at Space Quest III: The Pirates of Pestulon - the 1989 PC classic from Sierra!
Space Quest III: The Pirates of Pestulon is a 1989 PC text adventure/comedy game created by Sierra Online. The Space Quest series follows the exploits of hapless janitor Roger Wilco. The third installment picks up with Roger trying to find missing software programmers Scott Murphy and Mark Crowe (the "two pirates"). The Space Quest games blend science fiction, humor and an impressive soundtrack along with puzzle solving and adventure.
Space Quest III features hilarious references to other science fiction franchises such as The Terminator, Star Trek, Star Wars as well as pop culture references such as the McDonald's restaurant chain (Monolith Burger).
In this review, Aaron jumps right in with a comprehensive playthrough of the entire game including alternate puzzle solutions, sampling the soundtrack and pointing out some of the countless references to other franchises. Aaron also looks back at the Space Quest franchise as a whole with his own perspective and mentions some of his experiences with other text adventure games such as Moonmist and Colossal Cave ("when else am I gonna talk about these games?!").
Enjoy the ride!

***A NOTE FROM AARON IN 2018***
Although I'm proud of this video, it's probably not an accurate representation of my vision for this channel. I realize this channel is starting to gain some actual traction and as such, you may be viewing this for the first time after seeing some of my newer stuff and be a little confused.
This was the first video I ever produced. It took me over 100 hours over the course of a few months in the summer of 2014 as I was learning Adobe Premiere on the fly while editing on my generic Inspiron 1545 Dell laptop that is in no way meant for video editing. I had a lot of fun making this video and learning Premiere as I went. I never really thought that anyone would see the video or that the channel would go anywhere. As such, this video has a much different tone than my more recent content. For starters, I'm swearing like a sailor which is not something I do anymore. This video was definitely very AVGN-inspired, but that's not really me nor my vision going forward. Hope you understand.
