What is up guys, Max here, welcome back to Filmit.io. Today we are demoing Shortcut, a new free plugin from the team. It works in Premiere Pro and After Effects, and today we are in Premiere. It is a small docked bar that does the fiddly timeline jobs in one click: adjustment layers over a selection or over every cut, staircasing clips so Synchronize actually works, un-nesting, a proper freeze frame, and a QC scan that flags gaps and offline media before you export.
Shortcut is free. No subscription and no payment, ever. It installs through Filmit Studio, our free desktop app, alongside the rest of our plugins, effects, and transitions for After Effects, Premiere Pro, and DaVinci Resolve.
What you'll see:
- Installing Filmit Studio and opening Shortcut from Window and Extensions
- Docking Shortcut so it blends into Premiere, including dark and light mode
- Adjustment layer above one clip, or above a whole selection
- Shift-click for one adjustment layer per clip, Ctrl-click for one over every cut
- Setting the per-cut adjustment layer padding in settings
- Staircase a pile of clips onto their own tracks so Synchronize can run
- Un-staircase to pack everything back down when the sync is done
- Un-nest a nested sequence back into the timeline in place
- A freeze frame that lands above your clip so the original keeps playing
- A QC scan that markers up gaps in video and offline media before export
