What is up guys, Max here, welcome back to Filmit.io. Today we are demoing Shortcut, a tool that is 100 percent free for every user. It is a small docked bar of one-click buttons for the jobs you already do by hand in After Effects: adjustment layers, un-precompose, freeze frames, loops, wiggle, reversing keyframes, screenshots, and a quality control scan. None of it is hard to do natively, it is just fiddly and repetitive, so we turned each one into a button. Let me show you.
Shortcut is free. No subscription and no payment, ever. It installs through Filmit Studio, our free desktop app, alongside the rest of our plugins, effects, and transitions for After Effects, Premiere Pro, and DaVinci Resolve.
What you'll see:
- Installing Filmit Studio and opening Shortcut from Window and Extensions
- Docking Shortcut so it sits in your workspace like a native panel
- Adjustment layer over your selection, or hold Shift for one per layer
- Un-precompose to pull layers back out of a precomp, with the precomp kept
- Freeze frame that plays up to the playhead then holds to the end of the layer
- Loop a GIF or precomp down the timeline with no time stretching or keyframes
- Wiggle on the selected property, and reversing a pair of keyframes in one click
- Screenshot the current frame straight to disk, with the path set in settings
- A quality control scan that flags missing footage and hidden or unassigned layers
- Turning individual buttons on and off in settings so the bar only shows what you use
