Kim McPherson’s family business was built on the unexpected. Most notably, by turning cotton fields into an award-winning winery. (Folks called them crazy. The McPhersons said: “Hold my wine and watch this.”)
Kim’s father, a curious chemistry teacher, started off by illegally distilling hooch in the backyard. After taking over McPherson Cellars Winery, Kim earned many accolades such as the James Beard Award.
Kim hasn’t shaken his roots. He prides himself on reasonably-priced wine for the working man, distilled to be drank with friends.
