Coffee cupping isn’t just for pros — it can actually be a fun, easy, and surprisingly romantic way to explore flavor and spend time together. In this video, Sarah takes over the channel (kind of!) to show how we turned a casual coffee tasting into a cozy, lighthearted date night at home.
➡️ Whether you’re a seasoned home brewer or just curious about trying something new, we’ll walk you through how to set up a simple coffee cupping session, what gear you need (hint: not much!), and how to taste and talk about coffee — no pressure, just play.
📌 What You’ll Learn in This Video:
- How to cup coffee at home with minimal gear
- Tips for turning coffee tasting into a date night or fun activity
- How cupping helps you explore different flavor profiles
- Why coffee doesn’t have to be serious to be special
- Our favorite moments, bloopers, and unexpected favorite coffee of the night
📝 How to Cup Coffee at Home (the Easy Way):
- Pick 2–3 coffees (different origins or roasters work great — even pre-ground is okay!)
- Measure and grind ~8-9g of each coffee
- Add to separate bowls/mugs, label them if needed
- Smell the dry grounds — what do you notice?
- Pour hot water (~150g) over each coffee and wait 4 minutes
- Smell the bloom (aromas change a lot!)
- Break the crust at the 4 minute mark with a spoon while inhaling deeply
- Skim the surface to remove grounds
- Slurp & taste! Try to coat your palate. Don’t worry about being “right” — just notice what you enjoy
- Compare notes with your date or friends — it’s all about learning and connection
Bonus: Pair it with dessert, set the mood, or try blind tasting for extra fun!
🔥 Want to explore coffee with someone you love — or just learn something new in a low-stress way? This is for you.
