In this project, I built an ESP32-based internet radio that does much more than just play music.
It streams audio over WiFi, processes I2S data in real time, and displays both a waveform and a spectrum analyzer on a small display.
On top of that, I added three potentiometers to control bass, mid, and treble frequencies — giving full analog control over the sound.
This project shows just how powerful the ESP32 really is, especially when using both cores to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
I’m still experimenting with the I2S protocol and learning along the way, but that’s what makes it fun.I’m using a DAC, the PCM5102A — a digital-to-analog converter.
